Competition & SGC News

In singing news, I recorded “Fly Me To The Moon” on Thursday with the wonderful Mr. Randal Muir.  Now I just need to do a 12-bar blues (I’m considering “Evil Gal Blues” by Aretha Franklin) and I will have my entry ready for the Young Jazz Players’ Competition.

There was also some exciting news at the Southern Gospel Choir rehearsal (excerpts test went well, by the way) of various gigs we’ve been asked to do… the most exciting being a remote possibility that we’ll be asked to perform at the Tokyo Arts Festival in December, all expenses paid!  That would be a fantastic experience.  I really hope it happens.  If not, I won’t be too worried, because I know if not this year it will be next year or the year after that – the SGC is definitely moving up in the world, very fast.  I am proud to be part of such an amazing group.
